Lady Card softball team jumps out to 4-2 on season

The Boone Central girls’ softball team took to the field for a flurry of games since last report, boosting their record to 4-2, putting together a three-win streak through August 30. Since last week’s recap, the team played against Highway 91, Blue River, Polk County, NEN Vipers and Highway 91 – with mainly games on the road.

Golf team duals Fullerton at home

The Cardinals continued their season with their second week of match play last week. Monday saw the Fullerton Warriors visiting the Albion Country Club for their annual dual and the Cardinals came out on top in a dominant fashion.

Cardinals Golfers tee off new season

The Boone Central girls golf teams got the fall season started last week in O’Neill on Aug 21st. The invitational featured an impressive 11 team field with some very talented teams from the northern reaches of the state.

The Boone Central Lady Cardinal girls softball team opened their season with a game against the Central City Bison on the road on August 21. The Lady Cards started out a bit slowly, giving up 6 runs through the third-inning, until they got one of their own on the board in the top of the fourth.

St. Edward team wins over Madison

The St. Edward Men’s Soccer team scored a 4-3 win against Madison during a hard-fought game played on Saturday, July 26 during the Beaver Valley Days celebration. The final two regular season games will be against O’Neill on Friday, August 1 in O’Neill, and against Ainsworth on Friday, August 8 in St. Edward.

Seniors team ends season at area tourney

The Albion Seniors Post #162 boys baseball team started up their run at the State tournament this year with games on July 25-29 at the local fields. Sutton was technically the host, but games were played in Albion all last weekend and into this week to determine the State qualifier for the C5 area tournament.

Seniors fight through two headed to area tournament

Albion’s Post #162 Seniors picked up two stiff games in the last week, waiting for the Class C Area tournaments to begin in another week. Albion played Pierce’s Seniors, falling 13-4, and then took on David City Post #125 at home on Monday, July 21, falling 15-7 in a game that was very closely played but separated with some errors.

10U girls travel to state for first time

Body
The Albion 10-and-Under softball team took a trip to the State Softball Tournament last weekend, picking up some good experience and memories for the team to carry into the future. The team took to the field against the Havoc Dunn team in the bunny bracket before the first round, and took a loss 6-0.
