Patzel signs at Midland...

St. Edward/Newman Grove Lady Panther Kailey Patzel recently committed to play for Midland University to play volleyball after her local graduation. Pictured are Ashley Warren, head volleyball coach; and in front (l to r): Troy Patzel, Sydney Patzel, Kailey Patzel and Karla Patzel. With most recently MaxPreps stats, Patzel had posted career 492 kills, 443 digs, 302 assists, and over 100 kills in her last two years alone, scoring 249 points for her team.

Cards test Stars at State Playoffs

The #14 Boone Central Cardinals (5-4) traveled to Kearney to take on the #3 Kearney Catholic Stars (9-0) in the first round of the Class C-2 State Playoffs. The Stars were one of only two teams in C2 to finish the regular season undefeated: the other being the #1 Cedar Catholic Trojans.

The Boone Central Lady Cardinals took to the court for the C1-5 Sub-District tournament in Leigh on Monday, Oct. 27, knocking off the #2 seeded Homer to move ahead in the sub-district tournament.

Cardinals come up short at Ord

The Boone Central Cardinals traveled to Ord to take on the Chanticleers (5-3) last Thursday for a shot at claiming a piece of the district title. Ord came into the matchup with an undefeated record in the district having been the only team to take down the GICC Crusaders.

Cuevas runs at State meet

Micah Cuevas competed at the state meet held at the Kearney County Club in Kearney on Friday, October 24. After a recall and then a 5-minute delayed start, Cuevas finished 30th out of 131 runners in 17:33.1.

The Lady Cardinals were ranked third in the C1-5 Subdistrict bracket and traveled to Leigh to play against #2 Homer, winning the game, 3-0 and moving into the sub-district final on Oct.
