The Boone Central Cardinals boys basketball team had another tough week heading into the holiday break facing two good teams and struggling to get shots to fall. BC 51 – LHNE 68 Sophomore Kaden Miller led the Cardinals with 15 pts, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 deflections and 4 steals in a losing effort for Boone Central as they failed to sustain a hot start against Lutheran High Northeast (31), falling 68-51 on Dec 16th.

Lady Cards Dominate LHNE

BC 66 – LHNE 18 The Boone Central Lady Cardinals put the skids on their three-game losing streak in a dominant fashion as they destroyed Lutheran High Northeast (0-5) at home on Dec 16th. The Cards never trailed in this one as they took an early lead building it to a 17-2 position after one and carried the momentum all the way through.

Cardinals take second at home tournament

The Boone Central Cardinals wrestling teams hosted a Dual Tournament this past weekend, picking up a second place finish overall as a team. Other teams at the event were Gretna East, Crete, Minden, Crofton and Conestoga.

Lady Cards mark first loss of season

The Boone Central Cardinals turned to a tougher slate of competition in week two with three opponents boasting undefeated or one loss seasons coming in. The Cards battled hard against the perennial playoff contenders from Crofton on Tuesday but couldn’t hold onto a half team lead as they fell to the Warriors 46-38 for their first loss of the season.

Sophomore Kaden Miller scored 24 points while older brother Jacob chipped in 19 of his own as Boone Central opened the 25-26 campaign with a loss on the road against Columbus Lakeview, 62-51 last Thursday.

The Boone Central boys wrestling team traveled to O’Neill on December 6, to take part in the O’Neill Eagle Invite. The Cardinals finished in 12th overall with 74.5 team points.
