The Newman Grove/St. Edward Panther boys’ basketball team will travel to Fullerton for the D1-6 Sub-District competition next week. They will take on Neligh-Oakdale (5-16) to begin the post-season play.

Roy Gumm has been hired as maintenance supervisor by the City of St. Edward.

The Newman Grove/St. Edward Panthers boys’ basketball team faced some tough opponents in their last three games, pushing toward the slide into the end of this year’s season.

Three Lady Panther wrestlers ended their regular seasons at the B-1 District tournament in Plainview last week. At 120, Mackenzie Wiese (13-16) won with a bye, pinned Segelke of Minden, lost by pin to Thompson of Yutan and lost by pin to Settje of Laurel-Concord-Colerdige.

Representing Newman Grove/St. Edward’s bowling team, Serenity Strong won sixth-place at the Class B Girls State bowling tournament in Lincoln this past Monday.

City residents now have several options for receiving and paying their water/sewer/garbage bills, according to City Clerk Shelbie Schulte. City invoices for these bills are sent the first of every other month during the months of February, April, June, August, October, and December.
