Boone County Commissioners unanimously voted Monday morning to install Victoria Olson as the new zoning administrator for Boone County effective Wednesday, May 22. Her official swearing in will be held Friday, May 24.

Two local students, Seth Wright of Petersburg and Braden Benes of Albion, were recognized during the “Pillar” awards in the Engler Entrepreneurship program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The award ceremony was held Friday, May 3, in the Engler Agribusiness center on UNL East Campus.

A local disaster due to the April 26 tornado in Boone County was authorized by the County Commissioners at their meeting Monday, May 20. Commissioners met with Jenna Clark, Region 44 Emergency Manager, who reviewed the path of the April 26 tornado.
