City Pool getting upgrade

The swimming pool in Newman Grove is being given much needed repairs. It has had a slow leak for some time and some of the jets and gutters were plugged.
The Newman Grove original pool was completed in 1938.

Celebrating Arbor Day...

Newman Grove Tree Board celebrated Arbor Day with the Newman Grove Elementary School. On Thursday, April 24, the preschool through 4th grade students received a book and activities for their classrooms. The 4th through 6th grade students each were given a tree sapling. On Friday, April 25, Arbor Day the 5th and 6th grade students helped plant a memorial tree in the memory of Robert Flood in the mini park.

Apply for grants through Tree Board

Newman Grove residents are invited to apply for tree grants. Newman Grove Tree Board will again be awarding $100 tree grants to four city residents in 2025 in their annual program.

Stone opens Sisters store on main street

Prairie Sisters’ new home is in the former Sixthth & Hale building on main street in Newman Grove. Owner, Katie Stone, will be selling women’s and kids clothing, home decor and furniture. She will sell online and from the store. Inventory from the previous owner will also be for sale.

Newman Grove NHS inducts new members

The Newman Grove National Honor Society (NHS) welcomed seven new members during its induction ceremony held on Monday, March 24th. This year marks the 98th anniversary of the school’s NHS charter, which was issued on April 26, 1927, making it one of the oldest in the state of Nebraska.
New inductees are (l-r): Micah Cuevas, Dylan Luetkenhaus, Piper Jarecki, Allyx Forre, Isabella Santarosa and Madysen Wiese.

City awarded CCCFF funding

the Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) announced $5.54 million of awards to 21 grant recipients under the Civic and Community Center Financing Fund (CCCFF). Ten communities are receiving awards for construction projects, and 11 are receiving funds for planning.
