Boone Central Cardinals key victory for white team in NEN All-Star game

Four Boone Central athletes played key roles in the White Team’s 24-17 victory over the Red squad in the Northeeast Nebraska All-Star Football Classic played at Norfolk last Saturday, June 8. The winning combination of quarterback James Fogleman, running back Parker Borer and their teammates Hank Hudson and offensive lineman Trent Patzel providing the edge the White team needed after falling behind 7-0 in the second quarter when the Red squad hit a long touchdown pass.

Seniors top Twin River at 3-0

James Fogleman’s line drive single in the second inning drove in a run and gave the Albion Seniors a 3-0 lead early in the game which would prove enough to secure a 3-2 victory over Twin River on the road last Wednesday.

Juniors win over Plainview in opener

This past week, the Albion Post 162 Junior Legion baseball team started their summer season by hosting Plainview on Monday and traveling to St. Paul on Wednesday. Monday was a great night for baseball, and a great team effort, as the Albion Juniors squeaked away with a close 7-6 win to start the season. A gritty St. Paul team played well against Albion, as Albion fell 10-2.

Chargers were strong competitors at state

Riverside Chargers track teams traveled to Omaha for the 2024 Class D State Invitational. They earned a ninth-place boys overall finish, a 28th for the girls, and a number of individual medalists.

Molt paces Riverside ‘24 state track success

Riverside has become accustomed to track and field competition through the years, both in the regular season and when district and state championships roll around. The 2024 season was no exception as a strong contingent of Chargers were on hand at Omaha Burke Stadium May 17-18 for the Nebraska State Championships.
Riverside senior Jack Molt added three state track/field medals (100, 200, 4x100) to his career collection in last week’s championships at Omaha Burke Stadium.

There weren’t many Humphrey/ Lindsay Holy Family Bulldogs at Omaha Burke this past week, but Garett Durkop and Karley Vering closed the 2024 track and field season competing in the Nebraska State Championships.
