Several area students were among the 200 receiving degrees during summer commencement at the University of Nebraska at Kearney last Friday, Aug. 9.

Life leads people to many unexpected changes, but for Albion High School Alumni, Joseph Krings, a change of career paths lead to a future of spectacular opportunities. Krings, a 1994 graduate, knows his way around the movie industry.

Several hundred people attended the final concert of the downtown Albion series last Thursday, July 25, featuring the Pioneer Band (top photo) and Grant Pickrel (right). They played five hours of country music at The Venue on Fourth.The concert, sponsored by the Albion Area Arts Council, also featured a free will burger feed sponsored by Cornerstone Bank, free tacos sponsored by Stealth Broadband, several food trucks, other refreshments and other activities.

Nebraska Farmer announced last week that Newman Grove area native Addy Donelson was the 2024 scholarship recipient. Donelson, a sophomore at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, is an agriculture and environmental sciences communication major, with minors in Engler entrepreneurship and public policy.
