The 2025 American Legion Post #73 Pulling for Patriots antique tractor pull was held Sunday, September 7th at the Newman Grove Fireman’s Park. A list of entries follows with those placing first, second or third.

Lions Club holds screenings

This past week the Newman Grove Lions Club conducted Sight and Hearing Screenings in the Albion, St. MIchael’s, and Newman Grove Public Schools.

Cardinal Cage building going up

Last December, the idea of a new “Cardinal Cage” building to be built at the Albion Sports Complex was discussed with the Albion City Council, and just a few months shy of a year later, that idea took some shape at the ball fields with the buildling being constructed in short fashion.
The Cardinal Cage building had a flurry of activity last week.

Lindsay Event center nears completion

Olson Picnic held near Barlett

The 91st Annual Olson Picnic was held Sunday, August 10, 2025 at the Headquarters near Bartlett. This event began in 1934 in Newman Grove, where John and Betsy Olson had settled after coming from Sweden.

FFA officers tour DC Seed...

Dallas Choat at DC Seed & Chemical recently hosted the St. Edward FFA Chapter officer team for a tour of the facility and to talk “all things ag.” The FFA also launched their food drive for Heartland United Way, collecting donations through September 8. Photos from DC Seed social media.

Housing project taking shape at 7th & State

The Albion Economic Development Corporation updated the community via its social media yesterday about a new housing project that has cropped up in the community. A new “quadplex” is getting close to being completed at the corner of 7th and State in Albion, adding four new 900+ sq.
