A famous runner helped send the BC Cardinals cross country teams off in style to Kearney for the State Cross Country event last week. “Forrest Gump,” with Ella Gompert, Kasey Krohn, Ella Gompert, and some additional supporters in Kearney.
This fall, Boone Central School, and St. Edward School fifth graders learned about electrical safety from Cornhusker Public Power District representatives. The schools were among the eighteen schools and 470 students in Cornhusker Public Power District’s six-county service area to experience the program.
Gateway Theatre organized on January 22, 2002, through a purchase agreement from Keith Theater and Gateway Youth Foundation, a 501(c) (3) entity. An agreement entered into with Boone Central Schools through a partnership with an entrepreneur class and a board of directors was made.
The Albion American Legion and auxiliaries held a remembrance walk starting in Fuller Park and the South Picnic Shelter on Sunday, Sept. 7. Mary Jane Noble captured a few pictures from the provided trolley. The walk was held in remembrance of 9/11, and was hosted by the Albion American Legion Post #162, VFW Post #736 and their Auxiliaries.
The 2025 American Legion Post #73 Pulling for Patriots antique tractor pull was held Sunday, September 7th at the Newman Grove Fireman’s Park. A list of entries follows with those placing first, second or third.
Last December, the idea of a new “Cardinal Cage” building to be built at the Albion Sports Complex was discussed with the Albion City Council, and just a few months shy of a year later, that idea took some shape at the ball fields with the buildling being constructed in short fashion.
