Homestead to purchase Randolph bank

Homestead Bank, a subsidiary of CSB Co., has announced plans to acquire First State Bank of Randolph in a move aimed at expanding its presence in northeast Nebraska. The transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval, is expected to be finalized in mid-2026.

The Nebraska Farm Bureau will be sponsoring a candidate forum next Monday, March 23 at the Cardinal Inn in Albion for voters to attend. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m., and have a time for the candidates to review their campaigns with those in attendance as well as a time of question and answers for those attending to ask questions of the candidates.

AEDC removes old church buildings on South 9th

Work didn’t take long for the removal of two structures on 9th Street two weeks ago. The Albion Economic Development Council announced the demolition of two buildings on South 9th Street at the beginning part of February, to clear the lots and make them available for new construction., It was mentioned in an online comment that the two buildings were originally schoolhouses that were purchased and moved into Albion by the Albion Seventh-Day Adventist church.
