Last week several members of the Petersburg Rescue unit participated in a practice drill at the wind tower site east of Petersburg. Members attending were EMT’s Dale Salber, John Wagner, Neil Baumgartner, Kim Fangman, Mike Prothman and Jen Thieman.

Dan and Shelley Lueken family hosted their 7th annual back to school breakfast. They have hosted kids and parents on the first day of school with homemade breakfast to start their year of school. It is a neighborhood tradition.

DAR hosts 42 annual quilt show

The Loup Trail Daughters of the American Revolution hosted the 42nd annual quilt show July 24- 26th in the commons room at Burwell Jr-Sr High School. This year there were a variety of nearly 60 beautiful entries from area quilters and crafters.

Art camp sessions continue...

The first session of Art Camp 2025 for 3-5 graders taught by Jerene Kruse was held July 16-18. The theme for this year is “Art for All Seasons.”The students completed a clay owl, a fish dish, a mosaic shape, a watercolor landscape, a zentangle vase with pipe cleaner flower, a wooden gnome for four seasons and a mandala stepping stone. Inaugural Arts Fest to be held at Nest downtown

On August 9, 2025 the inaugural Nest Arts Fest will be held at The NEST from 3-6 p.m with a talent showcase and some food vendors to follow. The event is being organized by Leialoha Barnes, a rising Sophomore at Boone Central Highschool.

Genoa School to celebrate 35th remembrance day

The Genoa U.S. Indian School Foundation invites the public to the 35th Annual Recognition and Remembrance Day, a day of reflection, education, and cultural celebration, held on Saturday, August 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the St. Rose of Lima Community Center in Genoa, Nebraska.
