Boone Central’s Bella Meyer chooses Stanford from among 15 top universities

(Editor’s Note: Isabella Meyer, one of the top 2024 Boone Central High School graduates in class rank, spent more than the average amount of time and effort in selecting a top university to attend next year. She was accepted at all 15 universities she applied to, and she picked Stanford University to begin her undergraduate career. Following is her explanation of the process.)

Area students in summer speech camp at Wayne

Several area students attended the Wayne State College Summer Speech Camp recently, getting a jump start with their competitive speech projects for the upcoming school year. Area students attending included Makenna Devine and Lexi Osborn of Albion, Aiden Klein and Olivia Klein of Petersburg, and Jovie Borer and Juliana McNally of Elgin.

Lindsay Pivot Days will be June 28-29

Lindsay community will be celebrating its annual Pivot Days on Friday and Saturday, June 28-29, with a wide variety of events. Preceding the celebration, the special auction of a Lindsay pivot point, with panel, span and overhang will be held Wednesday, June 26.

Missoula Children’s Theatre marks 25th year in Albion

Making its 25th appearance in Albion last Saturday, the Missoula Children’s Theatre group performed and adaptation of “The Wizard of Oz” with a host of local youth of all ages playing parts in the production. According to Albion Area Arts Council Director Alee Mullings the show was a “very successful event! Sixty-two students from all over Nebraska: Albion, Norfolk, Spalding, Omaha, Newman Grove, and more.” It was estimated that there were 275-300 people in attendance.
