May rainfall keeps everyone moving and mowing

Body May brought additional rainfall which kept residents mowing their rapidly growing lawns. By the first week of May some of the earlier planted crops were either being washed out or silted under causing a need for some to be replanted.

Body After months of preparation by Petersburg organizations and residents, the 320 BRAN bike riders, plus support group, arrived in Petersburg on June 5. They came after, according to most, a grueling 78-mile ride from Burwell despite having the wind at their backs most of the way.

Petersburg’s Fogleman All-Star offensive MVP

Body James Fogleman was named the Offensive MVP for his contribution to the White team in this year’s NEN All-Star Football Classic on Saturday. Fogleman had 98 yards passing and one touchdown credited to his quarterback skills, and posted six carries of his own for 35 yards rushing.
