FFA Chapter holds banquet

On Sunday, April 19, 2026, the Boone Central FFA Chapter held its annual end-of-year banquet. This banquet was filled with recognition of students, FFA alumni, parents, and community members who helped out our organization this school year.

First Communion celebrated...

St. Michael’s celebrated First Communion for students of St. Michael’s school and St. Michael’s PRE class. A special Sunday Mass was held at 2:00 pm in honor of this grand occasion. Boone Central PTO celebrates with Color run

In 1920 Dan Fuller donated 6.22 acres of his farm land to Albion Nebraska for a city park. Fuller’s vision was from that time on there would always be someplace nice for children to play and families to gather for picnics and reunions.

Scouts hold Pinewood Derby races

On Sunday, April 12, Girl Scouts Troop 58770 and Pack 155 Cub Scouts held the 2026 Pinewood Derby Race in the basement of The Zion Lutheran Church in Albion. Eight Cub Scouts and five Girl Scouts participated in the race that showcased their hard work and effort over several weeks of preparation.

Albion Scouts are asking for the community’s help with their Scouting for Food drive on Saturday, April 18th 2026. The Scouts are collecting donations of any non-perishable food items for the Boone County Food Pantry.

Smith chosen for Cornhusker Boys State

The Albion American Legion Post has chosen Jacob Smith as the 2026 Cornhusker Boys State Representative. Smith is the son of Rob and Maggie Smith of Albion, and will join nearly 300 other high school juniors from across Nebraska at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln this season.

Egg hunt held at Good Sam

There were 1700 Easter eggs hidden at Good Samaritan Saturday March 28. The eggs were filled by the residents at Good Samaritan, and there were three age groups students from Boone Central. Candy was donated by Tallgrass and the Albion Chamber.

Five Cardinals chosen for Cornhusker Girls State

Five young women have been chosen by the Albion Legion Auxiliary for this year’s Nebraska Legion Auxiliary Cornhusker Girls State program this June. The chosen Cornhusker Girls Staters for this year are: Eloise Martinez, daughter of Anne Laure & Robert Martinez Isabella Santarosa, daughter of Claudia and Eric Santarosa Brittany Jo Sup, daughter of Angela & Joel Sup Katelyn Curry, daughter of Tiffany & William Curry Johanna Spence, daughter of Rachelle & Jason Spence The girls will travel to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln college campus from May 31-June 6 for a week of study of local, county and state government processes in a nonpartisan, political learning experience.

FFA Alumni hold Gateway to Sandhills Rodeo event

The Albion FFA Alumni organization hosted the 31st annual Gateway to the Sandhills Bullride this past weekend at the Boone County Agriculture & Education Center/Niewohner Arena. In the above photo, The Double S Bull Company presented the Albion FFA Alumni with the best new event of the year award for our event hosted in March of 2024.
