Power pole struck by storm
Sunday evening May 17 at 7:55 p.m. the Petersburg fire department was alerted by a passerby to fire on an electric pole which had been struck by lightning located on Beaver RD and 170 Street west of town.

Antelope Memorial wins award from Bryan Health
On April 28th, Antelope Memorial Hospital received the Most Improved Performance Award for 2025, as a member of the Accountable Care Organization (ACO) coordinated by Bryan Health.

Blood drive meets goal
At the April 27th Petersburg Red Cross blood Drive 41 units were collected with a goal of 42. This drive was a community celebration honoring Father Frank Baumert as he approaches the remarkable milestone of 600 units of blood products donated, saving many lives.
Fire & Rescue respond to Preserve call
On Monday, April 13th at 5:18 p.m. the Petersburg Fire and Rescue were involved in a search and rescue at the Olson Nature Preserve south of Petersburg.
Community Cleanup heaped four dumpsters
Last week the Petersburg Village Board held their annual village clean-up . The four dumpsters which sat on Main Street were filled to capacity even after Village Superintendent Nick Prothman used a payloader to press them down.
Fr. Baumert to be honored at blood drive
The Petersburg Community Red Cross blood drive is scheduled for Monday April 27,2026 in the Petersburg Post 334 American Legion Club from Noon to 6:00 p.m. The April drive will honor Father Frank Baumert of Petersburg.
Club reviews Ag breakfast, Egg Hunt
Topics discussed at the April Petersburg Community Club meeting included the recent Ag breakfast. AJ and Emily Jacobson stated everything went well with 85 people served about the same as last year. The volunteers did a great job, there are a couple cans of fruit left and that are for sale.
Members gather to clean up club
Sunday members of the Petersburg golf league and Ladies golf league gathered to clean the Petersburg course. Following the clean-up a pizza meal was served and a short meeting held.
Presented first dollar
Petersburg Community Club president Danielle Koch presented a first Dollar plaque to Jacii Lopez of Elgin. Lopez is owner of A Kidz’s Life Daycare 2 located in the Village Campus. Lopez and employees provide daycare in a fun filled environment with indoor and outdoor activities.
