Nurses certify in child safety

Body Boone County Health Center is continuing its commitment to keeping children safe by certifying two registered nurses as Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPSTs). Angie Schalk, RN, and Maria Kinney, RN, completed the nationally recognized certification program in April.

Ross, O’Brien honored by NSVFA

Body The Nebraska State Volunteer Fire Association (NSVFA) gives recognition for services which NSVFA members provide during the opening ceremonies of the Nebraska State Fire School each year, and this year’s recipients were two Good Samaritans recognized and nominated by the Albion...
Robert Ross was unable to attend the Opening Ceremonies on May 15th, but was able to attend the June 8th AVFD Meeting and receive his plaque, he is pictured above (center, holding plaque), and the photo includes Isaac Reeder and several AVFD members that responded to the incident.

Education Foundation taking applications

Body The Albion Education Foundation is now accepting applications for the Olson/Wolf Loan Program, which provides educational loans to students who have graduated from high schools located in Antelope, Boone, Greeley, Nance, and Wheeler counties.

Pull held at Fairgrounds...

Body The Albion Tractor Pull held on Sunday June 7th at the Boone County Fairgrounds was a huge success. The infield of the race track was bursting with tractors from many counties according to the license plates on the trucks and trailers parked west of the track.

Valuation protests need to be filed by June 30
